2017 has officially come to its conclusion, and to the delight of e-commerce retailers across the country was an overwhelmingly successful year on Google Shopping.
Q4 of 2017, with the help of a record breaking Black Friday/Cyber Monday and busier than usual holiday season, produced substantial growth compared to Q4 2016.
Retailers saw their overall traffic coming from Google Shopping explode year over year, with clicks increasing by 80% and impressions more than doubling.
With all of this additional traffic, sales and revenue also recieved a nice boost, 43% and 30% respectively.
Much of this growth can be attributed to the continued success that e-commerce retailers are seeing on mobile devices.
Compared to Q4 of 2016, site visitors coming from Google Shopping on mobile devices rose by an astounding 117% year over year.
This massive spike in mobile traffic is quite impressive, and helped bring in 40% more revenue from the consistently improving device platform.
